ALLI 2022

June 2022 | Brussels, Belgium

FVDG Ellen Bouwmeester and SVDG Arjan Van Ommen from the Netherlands and Cabinet Secretary Alper Koçulu from Türkiye met for the first time as ALLI classmates. Back then the trio had no idea whether they would see each other again, let alone be the YLLC Founding Team in the following year.

Lions Europa Forum 2022 

October 2022 | Zagreb, Croatia

Lion Alper held a session titled Multi-generational Partnership explaining his Leo to Lion journey along with how he and his fellow Lions increased the age balance in their club, district and multiple district. Following DG Ellen and FVDG Arjan's attention to the session, Ellen invited Alper to the Netherlands to have the same session in the Dutch national convention.

MD110 Convention 2023

May 2023 | Amersfoort, Netherlands

Instead of a session, the trio offered to have a covenant among their countries, the Netherlands and Türkiye, to exchange the best practices and build common goals on multigenerational partnership. With the approval of their councils, Young Lions and Leos Covenant (YLLC) is officially launched in Amersfoort's Sint-Joriskerk.

June 2023 | North Macedonia

Single district North Macedonia became the third country signing YLLC while celebrating their 25th anniversary. PIP Gudrun Yngvadottir witnessed the event with North Macedonian Lions and international leaders.

New leaders on board

July 2023 | Europe 

With the new Lion year, new council chairpersons took over the task to invite European countries to YLLC on behalf of the Netherlands and Türkiye. Starting with multiple districts, new districts were invited to join the covenant in each month.

GAT Area 4B is full house

September 2023 | Scandinavia

Pioneer alert! With the multiple districts Sweden, Norway and Denmark joining the initiative, GAT Area 4B became the first GAT area with all of its districts signing the covenant.

Dr. Patti Hill's Interview

September 2023 | Istanbul, Türkiye

In her presidential visit to Türkiye, Dr. Patti Hill also spend time with Lions and Leos in Istanbul. In an interview for the local Lions TV, she also shared her thoughts and good wishes about the continental initiative Young Lions and Leos Covenant (YLLC).

Lions Europa Forum 2023

October 2023 | Klagenfurt, Austria

Multiple or single districts which signed YLLC had a Europe-all-together ceremony where they proudly showed their ceremonial covenants unique to their own country. The idea to be united under multigenerational partnership started in Zagreb and got full circle in Klagenfurt.

LCI's Ad Hoc Committee

October 2023 | Cairo, Egypt

The trio was surprised when Alper was assigned to LCI's Women and Young People Membership Development Ad Hoc Committee by Dr. Patti Hill in the LCI Board Meeting. This global committee with two members from each CA followed a non-stop schedule until December to assess the membership data and strategies.

December 2023 | Virtual

When the winds are settled a little bit in December, it was time to regroup and take YLLC to its next step. A designated website, email address, email series, Flickr albums and a timetable were designed, tested and launched during the month to be shared with the YLLC Leaders in January 2024.

Time to Celebrate!

8 January 2024 | Europe

YLLC Leaders received their first email from the initiative's designated address. The leaders were invited to let each and every member in their district know about YLLC via social media, telecoms, presentations or other ways. Suggestive celebration resources were also provided to leaders.

Vote for the Goals!

16 January 2024 | Europe

YLLC leaders received their second email. District Governors and Leo District Presidents from 51 districts were invited to vote for the YLLC Goals until 15 February 2024. High point of the day: Lithuania joined us as the first district since Lions Europa Forum Klagenfurt!
