Our Leo movement is amazing. Should we join YLLC?

YLLC is about not only about Leos. It's also about Young Lions. Districts can always join YLLC to increase their focus on Young Lions.

We have a lot of Young Lions. Should we join YLLC?

YLLC is not only about our own district's development and growth. It's also about sharing our success with other districts to strengthen our constitutional area. Each district is welcome to join YLLC for different reasons.

Is "Young Lions" an official term?

Yes. Lions 18-40 years of age are officially called Young Lions. LCI is also using 18-45 as an age range occassionally.

Which membership types are under the term Young Lions?

Leo-Lions, student members and all Lions who are 18-40 years of age.

Should we register our members as Young Lions in Lion Portal?

No. There is no such option in Lion Portal.

Should a Young Lion be a former Leo? Or a former Leo-Lion?

No. Young Lions can also be members with no Leo past or Leo experience. It's simply about being a Lion 18-40 years of age.

What is the difference between a Leo and a Young Lion?

Shortest answer: Young Lions are members of Lions clubs. Leos are members of Leo clubs.

Who is a Leo?

Shortest answer: Leos are members of Leo clubs. 

How old are Leos?

Depending on your local legislation: 12-18 years old Leo club members are Alpha Leos. And 18-30 years old Leo club members are Omega Leos.

What is the ILO Council?

ILO Council of European and Mediterranean Leos is a group of Leo representatives from different European and Mediterranean countries whose main aim is to exchange knowledge and experiences, create common projects and find solutions for the main Leo issues together.

Who is a Leo-Lion?

Shortest answer: 18-35 years old members who got registered as Leo-Lions in Lion Portal. These members have been Leos for at least one year and a day before becoming Leo-Lions.

The most amazing people on the planet! The panel is a communication vehicle for Leos and Lions to share their ideas about the Leo Club Program with Lions Clubs International. Find more here.

Is YLLC an official initiative?

Yes. It's signed by multiple or single district officers such as council chairpersons and Leo MD presidents. However, it's only applicable for the European multiple or single districts which signed it.

Is YLLC an LCI-led initiative?

No. It's unique to Europe. Similar to the position of ILO Council of European Leos.

What is the budget for YLLC?

None. YLLC requires no participation fees, budget or expenses. However, districts are free to make expenses while implementing the initiative in their own districts.

Where are the follow up meetings hold?

YLLC's general meetings are online, at Lions Europa Forum and at Lions International Convention.

What's the frequency of the follow up meetings?

Online meetings are as much as needed by the districts. In practice, not more than once a month.

Why isn't it called "Multigenerational Partnership Covenant"?

Although the covenant's sole aim is to achieve multigenerational partnership, its title intentionally highlights "Young Lions and Leos". This is to remind us that to reach multigenerational partnership in our association, all we need to do is to increase membership and leadership of Young Lions and Leos.

Who are New Voices?

New Voices are women, young adults or members of underrepresented populations who made a dynamic and innovative contribution in one of the four areas: service, membership, leadership or marketing. Each district can nominate a Lion or a Leo as a New Voice in each area per year.

Are Young Lions and Leos among the New Voices?

Young Lions and Leos are natural candidates to become New Voices since they are the "young adults" in our association. They can become New Voices and receive a recognition certificate followed by the official process.

Is YLLC a New Voices project?

There is no official "New Voices project". However, the YLLC Team includes members who are New Voices. There are official New Voices activities such as symposiums, workshops and webinars mentioned in the New Voices microsite.
